Sensenbrenner Applauds Disaster Assistance For Jefferson County
Sep 11, 2007 -
Congressman F. James Sensenbrenner, Jr. (R-Menomonee Falls) today applauded the decision by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to add Jefferson County to the list of Wisconsin counties eligible to receive federal disaster assistance as a result of recent flooding.
“Shortly after the rains stopped, I joined my colleagues from Wisconsin to encourage President Bush to make disaster declarations for various counties in Wisconsin,” Sensenbrenner stated. “The addition of Jefferson County, a portion of which is in the 5th Congressional District, is welcome news and will provide residents of Jefferson County the help they need as a result of flood damages. This aid will offer some relief to Jefferson County residents who have endured great losses.”
Individual disaster assistance provides money and services to people in the declared area whose property has been damaged or destroyed and whose losses are not covered by their insurance. Jefferson County residents seeking information about assistance may contact FEMA at 1-800-621-FEMA, or www.fema.gov/assistance.
