Brookfield, WI,
Sep 2, 2009 -
Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Menomonee Falls), is currently accepting nomination applications for individuals interested in entering any of the United States Service Academies in the summer of 2010.
“Each year, I have the honor of nominating young men and women from the Fifth District, who are bright and intelligent, to attend the United States Service Academies,” Sensenbrenner said. “I encourage eligible individuals who are interested in attending the Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, West Point or the Merchant Marine to speak with their high school counselor and contact my District Office in Brookfield to learn more about applying to attend one of these prestigious institutions.”
United States citizens residing in Wisconsin’s Fifth Congressional District who are at least 17 years old, but not past their 23rd birthday as of July 1, 2010, and who have reached their senior year in high school, are invited to apply.
Candidates must complete an application and then will be interviewed by the Congressman’s Academy Selection Committee, a group of community leaders appointed by Congressman Sensenbrenner. Recommendations from the Committee will be made to the Congressman for final appointment based on academic and physical qualifications set by the Academies. The deadline for completed applications is October 15, 2009. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
